A Progress Report - Omelette Bowls

I've had several kind people ask how the Omelette Bowl project is progressing.  The honest answer is very slowly.

I've been busy putting the garden to bed for the winter but the bowls have been bisque fired and are ready for glazing.  I'd love to know what colours you think would look nice.  Please leave your suggestions in the comment section. I'd love to see your ideas.

  1. Very nice pottery! Many years ago I took a couple of university classes in ceramics and thoroughly enjoyed the potting wheel. My work was primitive at best; yours looks very professional. Well done! I'll look forward to seeing how you color/glaze them ...

  2. I envy your tuition. Being self-taught means it's taken me ages to get this far. It is the best fun you can have in mud! I'll post the finished project. Thank you for your kind comments. : )

  3. I took pottery lessons way back when dinosaurs roamed the earth but mine were terrible primitive compared to your slick ones. Colours ... mmmm .... so difficult - do you have something that goes with your kitchen colours, your dining colours or just random? I rather like the natural unglazed colour - perhaps that is the look with a similar glaze. Please let us know what you decide ....

    1. Do you ever consider taking pottery up again? It's such fun. I have a couple of ideas for glaze. I'll post the results. : )

  4. I love these little bowls. I quite like the natural colour too or maybe 'earthy' colours.

    1. I like the natural colour too. I hope to be able to find a glaze that will give a similar effect.
